I love how all the layouts using James Nachtwey photography look like this because he doesn’t turn his camera.
This might be my pre-coffee denseness, but what do you mean by “turn his camera”?
I believe APE means the image is straight-on and squared, not tilted or shot from an off-angle.
yes, he never shoots vertical. so awesome.
He means horizontal. Natchwey never shoots vertical.
I like the lay out and the use of space in each one. The only one I don’t totally get is the guy sitting in the dark jumpsuit with the fan behind him creating this 17th century styled halo, intentional or incidental.
I love the double spread of the opening image. It really exploits the use of image flow, it draws you into the mirror from the right page then goes to the headline below. This is nicely done..
James nactwhey he’s pretty good.
