that’s just awesome.
I like that…thrashing around….that’s really what it’s about. I try and explain to young people that everybody’s path in photography is different so there are no formulas. But one thing that is consistent throughout history is that you have to go where the “scene” is happening. If a person had wanted to be a photojournalist during the Civil Rights era then he would have had to go to the big demonstrations. If a person had wanted to be a band photographer in the 1980s then he might have wanted to go to LA to be near the glam bands. The point is, you have to go to the scene and the scene doesn’t come to you. For example, If you want to be a fashion photographer but live in a city where there is no fashion, then don’t be surprised when things don’t work out.
