This graph I discovered in the following presentation by Jason Moriber of Wise Elephant made me think of the photography business now.
Check out this video of his presentation to see what it’s all about and hear a solution to the problem.

And people were worried about the collapse of “the middle class”….go figure.
I know Jason, great guy, wonderful energy and unique vision. He has been super helpful to me. Just gotta love the funny drawings.
@David Harry Stewart,
David, your video made my morning!
Love it.

@Tim Jones, Thanks! I rather like the girl with the mask in the desert. You have a PDX addess, but a lot of the work on your sit was shot at the end of my street in Venice, no?
I really enjoyed this video. Its the rational and sensible way to view a business over time and how it relates to a photography career. Anyone can get a job, but to sustain a career over years takes long steady growth, not giving up and change with the market.
@Duncan Stewart, How about instigating change within the market, not changing with it?
Isn’t this basically endorsing organizational change management?
@scott Rex Ely, Okay Sure. Depending on where you lie within the herd. Instigating Change can be a life long event, a crusade. good on you if that’s your path.
Thanks for posting this, Rob. It’s reassuring in an “if you build it, they will come” kind of way.

Nice vid . On my ipad,
Great Vid. Like the how the platfrms really are just as stable as the economy. Someone is going to fall on their arse.
Thanks very much Rob for posting the video, I’m doubly glad it resonated with you. We are truly within an intense economic time with many trials and solutions being weighed and attempted. All I’m confident of is that new businesses have to be built to withstand the next storm. The trick is figuring out the path that mixes in the right amount of joy with the piles hard work.

Aw, this is a really great blog post. In suggestion I’d like to put in writing in this way in addition – taking time and even actual work to make a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and practically never seem to get something done.
