This is one of the things I really love about the Internet – the ability to look at great photos and to hear some behind the scenes experience. Thank you!
As someone who has been there & knows the language (but not Russian, like Mitja), I think he’s done pretty well. Interesting observations, and different than most of the ones I see from westerners. His observation of China (in that region) was spot-on, and you can really see his growth.
On the other hand, there’s so much more to that region, it looks like he missed a huge amount, too…
I was fortunate enough to see some of these photos in an exhibition at the Host gallery in London recently; the prints were stunning and it’s great to hear a little of the back-story here.
