  1. Funny, I don’t think the cover images is very good. Is it just me?

Looks awkward, blown-out, odd shape, out of proportion, like she has been squished vertically (ah! The Magic of PhotoShop!)

    • It’s an awkward and unflattering shot, but what we’re looking at here is a snapshot of the actual magazine cover, so it definitely loses something in the translation.

  2. Here is a man, ‘Sante’ who was shooting advertising and fashion including Victoria’s Secret for most of the 90’s, 1 of the very first photographers to shoot film / video before in came into vague, now doing a half-assed job of trying to look like Terry Richardson with slightly better lighting but not by much.
Pretty fukkin sad. when you move backwards instead of forwards as a photographer.

    • I don’t think this looks anything like Terry Richardson’s work.

And yes, it must be so sad for him to be shooting Esquire covers and having exhibitions all over the world. You ever been that sad?

      • I don’t either. I see it as a retro ring-flash look, that, when combined with the graphics, actually pulls off the retro look.

    • Ben, glad to hear it is not just me!

  3. cover looks like shit. ring flash always sucks. these photos are instantly dated. styling is bad too.

  4. Looks like a Model Mayhem portfolio.

  5. To all those ragging on Mr. D’Orazio, please post links to your own major magazine covers.

    Thank you.

    • Well said!

  6. For crying out loud….it’s MEGAN FOX! Who cares how techinical the photographer was or wasn’t? It’s MEGAN FOX!!
