  1. Hah….well done….except he still looks like Lestat…..maybe that’s a part of it that makes it excellent.

  2. Mehh – In my opinion, for what it is worth, I think the photographer did about as good a job as could be done. It is Tom “the asshole” Cruise that I don’t care for. These photos do nothing for me in convincing me that Cruise transformed into a “rock star” . I guess it is Cruise’s personal life that has me “not a fan” and therefore very biased about watching him or spending my money paying to watch him. Personally I think this is shit. Not because of the talented people that did the hair and makeup, or the stylists, or art directors, they did their job pretty well. It is Mr. Cruise who makes it suck.

  3. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

  4. I agree with Joe. Totally unbelievable and inauthentic. It’s not the photographer, it’s the subject matter. About as effective as polishing a turd.

  5. how about the bottle on his crotch? how cheap.

  6. I’m assuming that this is a spoof, right?

I always appreciate when someone who is especially good at what they do, doesn’t always take themselves too seriously.

    • TC is in character from “Rock of Ages” which is releasing soon.

  7. Maybe this will make more sense if you see the movie? More about styling and “the concept, than photography. I feel like I did when watching “Valkyrie”: I want to suspend disbelief, but I can’t. All I see is little Tom Cruise in a WW II German army officer’s uniform, he’s just Tom Cruise, not Colonel von Stauffenberg. Same thing here. Who knows? Maybe this movie is good, maybe he’s good in it. But these pictures are nothing special.

  8. I thought he was a singer in the movie, not a guitarist.

  9. Very nice images!! I love the last one best of all :)

  10. Conceptually I think it’s hilarious. Technically it’s well done, and when it comes down to it editorial photography is the pairing of technical proficiency with conceptual brilliance. It’s the classic rolling stone rock star showcase, but…with…wait for it…Tom Cruise. It’s a funny attention grabbing twist on an old theme. And I think Tom Cruise pulls the greasy rock star thing off really well.
