Superfast Free Promo Thumbnail Viewing

Check out the new and improved thumbnail view for the free promo at ILikeThesePhotos.com. This will give buyers a great opportunity to view 297 photographers in 10 seconds flat. Don’t think you’ll find that anywhere on the web. Special wOOt to my new business partner Erik Dungan for coding that up. It took him all of 10 minutes to do it so look for cool stuff coming down the pike in the near future. I’ll be taking this show on the road (email) in the next day or so.

Looks great Rob. Lots of options for viewing the work.

A coder is the best friend to have when in need, no?

Unfortunately when I try view them larger all the images are distorted. Squares & horizontal become verticals.

hopefully people click on the thumbnail of my picture as opposed to viewing it through the slideshow. i’m not crazy about that version. all the same, thanks for thinking enough of my work to include me in the group Rob.

so when will you be issuing the official “A.P.E. Approved” (”APEproved”?) logo that we can place on our websites? ;-)

ps: currently the new (nice!) thumbnail looks mentions “Click name to visit website” - but instead it links to flickr (once at flickr, one can indeed link to the photographer website)

    As seen on APE! Hilarious.

Yeah, I’d like the link to be direct so we’ll see about that in the next one.

One question: did Art Streiber, Jeff Lipsky, Chris Buck, Sam Jones, and all the other superstar photographers really submit their 2 images to you? Are they really looking for the extra promotion?

  14. A Photo Editor wrote:

yes they did. it’s not extra. it’s a new way to promote your work.

    everyone does promos. everyone.

@13 everyone does promo and it’s normal that they wanna be here and Rob is right to choose the best work.
I have a problem with Rob when it says that we should submit just fresh work and instead he selected portraits that has been published 2 years ago in Times magazine or a picture of an actor that passed away 3 moths ago at the age of 28 and he looked 18 in that pic and i can name many more examples but everybody knows. The edit looks great i wish we all knew we had to send our best work ever and not just something we shot in the past month, ppl that cheated got rewarded.
To all the photographers that sent their most recent work or shot something new and fresh just for this promo i just wanna say great work and you deserve it.

Would prefer if BG were black and text a different colour, certainly easier to view like this tho.
