a tale of two shooters. and we haven't even gotten into the forbidden topic of EGREGIOUS CONTRACTS. and we haven't mentioned the savings of not having to scan film. and we havent mentioned.... $125 digital cap? please. my camera body alone costs $8K. the results are superior to film. is it any wonder veteran shooters arent' chasing editorial anymore?

pretty interesting this follows a post about working for free, TIME could be leading the way in all that shifted work being put on the photographers, instead, they are capping all that expense photogs now endure at $125, saving them hundreds per job over film costs and editing/messenger time and money. so to hear someone as great as maryanne admit the work load and expense is on photographers, yet at the same time, lead the way in driving her talent pool out of business, is disheartening. (o yeah, cnn and time are the same comapany).

natchwey is a contract photographer for TIME, regular rules don't apply. PE's always use people at the top for examples, dan winters, chris buck, natchwey, but fail to mention the special rules that apply to these guys that only do the top maybe 5% of the shoots, the rest of us don't get play by these rules.
